Hinds ClevelandHINDS, Cleveland - (March 8, 1945 - May 8, 2021) -

Cleveland Hinds, affectionately called Dajahman, was born in Charlestown, St. Mary, Jamaica to Gladys Hinds (nee McKoy) and Allan Hinds.

He was known for his handsome looks and hearty laugh. He was a bright young man and trained as an electrician as a teenager. Cleve migrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the early 70's where he worked on a Golf course until he attended George Brown College and became a licensed Electrician.

He valued education and was known for encouraging all young ones around him to strive for excellence.

Cleveland was a man of principle and he would go to bat against injustice. Cleve was always there to assist friends be it an electrical, legal or financial situation. Cleve was instrumental in helping people take advantage of opportunities. Herman Lewis said, "When I was down he was always there to pick me up. I can't explain how much he meant to me. He truly was my brother from a different mother." Another friend mentioned, "He was a gentleman and cared deeply about family." Cleve treated all his friends' children like they were his own and was known as Uncle Clevie to them all."

During retirement playing dominoes was his favourite pastime and he enjoyed it with close friends Hopeton, Mr. Tooma, George, Teddy, Bob, Erol, Pablo, Richie The Giant and we can't forget Wray and his Nephew.

Cleveland is survived by his two sons Richard Hinds and Wayne Hinds, step daughters Tracy Shaw and Tracy Trimmingham, step son Shawn Trimmingham, and Niece/adopted daughter Debbie Hinds, his eldest brother Alvin Hinds, two younger sisters Laurel Bishop and Audrey Hinds, granddaughters Alanna Hinds and Janelle Hinds, grandsons Mauricio Hinds and Marquez Euloth and many relatives from both Hinds and Plunkett families.

He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

In keeping with Cleve’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place. We have decided not to have a formal service but rather, 'One Final 6-Love Celebration of Life' to be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, Brampton.
