GINSBERG, Freda - 1923 - 2021 Freda Ginsberg, aged 98, died peacefully on Mother's Day, May 9, 2021 (with the relief from intractable cancer pain utilizing her right to medical assistance in dying).
She was the beloved wife of Louis Ginsberg (died 1997) and longtime companion of Irving (Ike) Cohen, died January 2021.
Freda was the mother of Stephen (died 2009), Ron (Magdalene) and David (Meara). Much loved Bubby of Leia (Nicole), Monika and Joseph and great-grandchildren Leonie and Marek. Freda leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and friends.
The entire family extends our gratitude to Susan Rambaoa for her exceptional care and companionship over the past 2 years.
Freda's legacy is remembered by many from the early days when she and Lou ran a variety store on King Street and took great pleasure in spoiling the neighbourhood children with treats and friendship and mentorship as they got older. Freda enjoyed a wonderful career as a porcelain artist and teacher.
She is remembered for her happy smile and personality, always caring for others and her remarkable courage right up to the end. Donations in her honour can be made to the charity of your choice.
