Wiwchar WarrenWIWCHAR, Warren Garth - It is with the deepest of sadness, our family announces the passing of Warren (WW) in his 69th year on June 23, 2021.

Warren bravely battled liver failure over the past year and a half before peacefully slipping away.

The loving husband and soulmate of Pat Wiwchar (nee Brandreth) for 42 years, and the cherished father of Erik (Byron), Dean, and Makenzie (Winston), Warren was predeceased by his father Alexander and survived by his mother Elsie, sister Arlene and brother Gary (Bev).

He will be fondly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law as well as nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Whenever Warren entered a room, he immediately touched everyone with his contagious humour and sharp wit. Known for his intelligence and curiosity, Warren had an aptitude for reading a room and making everyone feel welcomed, like they were his best friend. Warren truly cherished moments of quality laughter and love with his family and friends, especially when it involved dancing.

Warren's love of travel was first initiated when he and his newlywed bride Pat took a yearlong honeymoon and travelled across Canada, the United States and Mexico in a renovated van they called home. Since then, he's had the privilege to enjoy countless other countries and cultures with the love of his life right by his side.

Even as Warren's physical condition deteriorated, he made an exerted effort to put moments with his family above his own physical discomfort without uttering a word of complaint. Despite setbacks throughout Warren's life, he always managed to channel his inner strength to get him and those he loved through challenging times. And now, as our family grieves his loss, we channel his strength and courage to get through this most challenging time as well.

Since the diagnosis of liver failure, Warren was awaiting a life-saving organ for transplant. While he wasn't able to receive one, his wishes were to be an organ donor himself, and now a part of him lives on in someone else.

To honour Warren, in lieu of flowers, our family asks that you please consider a donation to the liver transplant team at UHN.

Arrangements are entrusted wth Thompson funeral home, Aurora. We will be hosting a celebration of life in the coming months to honour Warren's legacy. A notice will be shared with family and friends when the appropriate date and location are determined.
