Hughes BrianHUGHES, Brian Douglas   -  It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, Brian Douglas Hughes, on Sunday, June 20, 2021, one day before his 73rd birthday.

Predeceased by his parents Allan (2011) and Sheila (2009).

He leaves behind his loving wife Heather, daughters Stephanie Ham (Dave) and Jennifer and sisters-in-law Sandra Hughes (Bruce) and Shirley Reid (Tab).

He is also mourned by his sister Beverley Parker (Harry) and nieces Meredith, and Gillian and nephew Michael.

He was a kind, gentle and easy going person who adored his grandchildren and the newest arrival, Stephanie and Dave's adorable, little Henry.

In his youth, Brian loved playing in rock bands around the Toronto area, including playing with David Clayton Thomas.

He then worked in the field of computers and later with his friend Robbie, developed the All Star Baseball game that was played in the Toronto Star. On July 31, 1996, unfortunately, Brian experienced a tragedy in that his house in Thornhill exploded due to a major gas leak.

Following this Brian and Heather moved to Stouffville where he began his career as a real estate agent. Brian loved being on the water, be it on his Hobie Cat, sailboat or captaining our pontoon boat.

He loved taking people on cruises around the lake.

I think Brian would say his greatest love was his cottage on Trout Lake, in North Bay, which is where his ashes will be spread.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held there in early fall.

Rest in peace Brian.

We will all miss you more than you can imagine.
