MacDonald JamesMacDONALD, James H. (Jim)   -  The family of James (Jim) H. MacDonald, regret to announce his passing at the age of 96 on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Jim's wife of 54 years, Margaret (nee Carpenter) predeceased him in 2007.

Jim is survived by his three sons, Robin (Colleen), Randy (Emily) and Jeff (Heather), and his grandchildren Ross, Rebecca, Graeme, Cameron (Jessica), Neil and Lindsay.

Jim was a WWII RCAF Veteran, having served in Newfoundland where he was a navigator who flew countless missions escorting Allied convoys to and from Europe.

He had many stories of his time there including a plane crash and the amazing sight of a hundred ship convoy coming up over the horizon at sunrise.

Jim's life work revolved around the construction equipment business, and he founded Amaco Construction Equipment Inc. in 1983.

Jim and Marg often travelled the world on business, and later in life they wintered in Bonita Beach, FL which they both enjoyed greatly.

Dad had and has passed on a great sense of humour and a very quick wit which he maintained to the end. He spent many happy hours driving and watching us at sport events and other activities.

Jim had a passion for golf and was a life member of the Islington Golf Club in Toronto.

No doubt Dad will be on the first tee in heaven, enjoying golf once again.

We want to thank the caregivers at Sunrise of Oakville and Revera Northridge Long Term Care of Oakville for their excellent friendly care for our father.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or SickKids Foundation, Toronto, would be appreciated.

A reception for friends and family will be held at a later date.
