WILDER, William Ashman - December 1, 1935 – June 23, 2021
For those of you out there that ever think of Bill, there's good news that accompanies this sad report! Of course, you'll already know Bill.
Longtime bandsman with the Salvation Army Band, playing the trumpet until he later switched to the cornet.
Fond of his grandfather, big band music and model cars.
Decades-long career as an upholsterer at Goodwill.
Inevitably though, Bill was called home on the afternoon of June 23, 2021.
And home is precisely where he went. That's the good news. It was his mother Jessie's wish that she be reunited with her darling son, whom she was no doubt desperately broken-hearted to be leaving behind when he was not even a year and a half old.
Well, we fixed that. We brought Jessie her long-awaited peace.
In a glorious ceremony, bathed in brilliant sunshine, music and a touching eulogy, Bill was most gently and most beautifully laid to rest with his mother at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, almost 84 years after they were parted.
Bill is now forever with the one who loved him most in all the world, and still does.
Lucky boy! No better home than with mamma!
