DOHERTY, Michael Francis  -  It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Doherty on July 14, 2021 in Letterkenny University Hospital, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Ireland after a short illness.

Michael is lovingly remembered by his wife Lisa, his twin brother John (Marlene - predeceased), brother Patrick (Teish), brother Aiden (Noreen) all of Co. Donegal, Ireland and sister Nuala (Daniel - predeceased) of Toronto, Canada, also remembered by brothers-in-law Harry Stewart of Co. Donegal, Ireland and Des Mathews of Dublin, Ireland, he was predeceased by sisters Maryjo (Joe McIvor - predeceased), Kathleen (Pat Kelly - predeceased), Agatha, and brother Liam (Mairead - predeceased), also his sister Brigid of Dublin who sadly passed away 3 days after Michael.

Also loved and missed by many nieces and nephews and friends in Canada and Ireland. Michael started life in Carndonagh, Co. Donegal, Ireland, from there he went to Birmingham, England to work before immigrating to Toronto, Canada. He worked as a stock broker until his retirement.

He was a great athlete, very involved in Gaelic sports both in Ireland and Toronto, he ran 4 marathons, one of which was a double marathon in the Northwest Territories, he also loved handball and cycling.

Michael was buried in the town he loved so well, Carndonagh, Co. Donegal Ireland, May he Rest In Peace, he will be loved and missed by all who knew him always and forever.

A celebration of life will be held for Michael here in Canada at a later date.
