Pluch MartinPLUCH, Martin Ernest - (December 4, 1928 - November 25, 2021) - Martin passed peacefully at home, with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary, his son Christopher (wife Kathy), his daughter Melissa (husband Scott) and his beloved grandchildren, Owen and Olivia.

His journey started in a small town in Upper Austria, a country he loved and visited often with Mary and his children throughout their lives. Martin arrived first in New York City and made his way to Montreal, before settling in Toronto where he met and married Mary.

He built a name for himself in real estate and property development and raised a beautiful family, his greatest joy.

He loved weekends spent in lively discussion and laughter over good food and wine.

Martin possessed an endlessly curious mind and his interests spanned a wide range from music, quantum and astrophysics to nature and history. His memory for all he had read and learned was mammoth, as was his generosity and understanding. He was happiest at his cottage on Lake Simcoe where he welcomed and entertained many friends, new and old. He will be deeply missed by his family who adored him for his patience, love and devotion.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the personal support workers, nurses, doctors, and technicians who treated Martin with gentleness, patience and dignity and made sure his final weeks were as comfortable as possible. Their dedication is especially heroic during these extraordinary times of COVID.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favourite charity on Giving Tuesday.

There will not be a public service, but we hope you raise a glass of good cheer in Martin’s memory when enjoying your next good meal. Arrangements are entrusted with Giffen-Mack funeral home, Danforth chapel.
