McGowen CarolMcGOWEN, Carol Ann (nee McDERMOTT)   -  It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Carol on December 22, 2021, at the age of 83.

Carol is survived by her loving spouse, Donald Velanoff and was much beloved by his family.

She was the heart and soul of her family of five children. Predeceased by her son David, she will be dearly missed by her children, Kelly (Bob), Janice (Alan), Drew (Andrea), Michelle (Brian) and daughter-in-law, Andrea.

She remained good friends and will be sadly missed by her former husband Ken and his partner, Mary. Gramma Carol was very proud of her 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Born in Toronto, the daughter of Thomas and Theresa McDermott, Carol was predeceased by her sister Joanie and brother Paul.

She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Donna, Cathy, Claire, Maureen, Rita, Bernie, Michael, their spouses, and her large extended family.

She worked for many years at the firms of Sim & McBurney and Dimock & Stratton, where her professional manner combined with her infectious charm were much appreciated.

Carol was a devoted spouse, mother, and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humour for whom family always came first.

She leaves a legacy of love for all who knew her. Her memory lives on as we show kindness, and decency to the people in our lives as she did everyday. A private family service was held.

If desired, donations to the Terry Fox Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
