Sherriff CharlotteSHERRIFF, Charlotte Ann (nee SANDERSON)   - 1932 - 2022  Charlotte passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Centre on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

Predeceased by Wallace Sherriff (2015), her beloved husband of over 60 years.

Adored Mother of Leon (Mary), Jennifer (deceased), and Camilla (Tommy).

A proud grandma to Andrew and Mark. Cherished by her large extended family.

Born in Toronto, and growing up in what is now Bloor West Village, Charlotte started playing piano at age 7.

This began her lifelong passion of music. She attended Runnymede Public School and Humberside Collegiate.

She graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music with her ARCT for both solo performer and teacher.

She established her own music studio and performed in Toronto until the family moved to Winnipeg in 1971.

In Winnipeg, she focused on raising 3 children, while dedicatedly working to help to implement social change.

During her lifetime, she volunteered tirelessly to the CCF through the change to the NDP.

Returning to Toronto in 1978, she continued her social activism, including being part of the core community that helped rescue, move and restore the Historic Applewood Shaver Homestead in Etobicoke.

She re-established her own studio, and spent many years serving on the executive of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association, including the role of President.

Through her lifetime, Charlotte helped instilled the love of music in both children and adults alike.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CAMH at camh.ca, the Trans Canada Trail at www.tctrail.ca, or a charity of your choosing.
