Arsenault FredARSENAULT, Fred Joseph   -   A National Treasure

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, Canada lost a National Treasure, WWII Veteran Pte. Fred Arsenault.

Fred originally from P.E.I. and having served in the Cape Breton Highlanders during WWII.

He originally was a member of the Prince Edward Island Highlanders, but was placed with the Cape Breton Highlanders in theatre, purely out of battlefield necessity.

Fred carried the Bren Gun during his time in Europe between 1940-1945, a tour of duty that included the Italian Campaign and the Liberation of the Netherlands.

Beloved husband of Yvonne Arsenault (deceased). Adoring father to Wayne (Robyn) Hamilton.

Ron (Betty) Toronto. Loving grandfather Todd, Tracy (Romy) Mathew (Cheyanne) Christopher.

Born March 6, 1920.

The son of the late Fabian and Veronica Arsenault.

He is survived by sister Catherine Woodward of Toronto. He was predeceased by brother Joseph and Manny, sister Olive and Emily.

He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donations may be made to Sunnybrook Veterans Centre Comfort Fund in Dad's name.
