Dickie HansDICKIE, Hans  - With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Hans John Brock Andrew Dickie.

He was born in Brantford, Ontario, on August 17, 1940, and left this world on January 12, 2024, at the age of 83.

Hans was a loving father to his daughters, Alison Thompson (Jay) and Suzanne Reid (Bryan); and a devoted grandfather to Erik, James, Maxwell and Jackson.

Hans graduated with a degree in Honours Philosophy from McMaster University, followed by a Law Degree at the University of Toronto.

Hans was an active member and volunteer of the Kingsway Lambton United Church. He was a generous host with a love of cooking and holiday traditions. He was an avid runner and member of The Boulevard Club, where he could often be found sipping his favorite martini looking out on Lake Ontario.

He loved history and learning languages which fueled his passion for travel. In his retirement, he pursued his love of writing, working on two books that he had hoped to get published. He was a man of many talents.

He had a strong character, a sharp wit and a keen sense of humor. We will miss our dad and we will always carry his memory in our hearts.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Kingsway Lambton United Church, on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 1 p.m.
