VAUGHAN, Rosemary Ruth Emily (nee SEREDA)   -  Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in her 89th year.

Loving wife to Alfred, Rosemary was the proud mother of Candace (Greg) Otte, Christopher and Susan.

Rosemary was also the loving grandmother and role model to her grandchildren, Caitlin (Mohamed), Rebecca, Ava, Robert, Camilo and Hartley.

As a true matriarch of the family, she instilled lessons of love, compassion, and kindness to all. Rosemary was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and travelled to Toronto with her mother, Helen; and her two dear brothers, Lawrence and Raymond.

They settled in a home in the Roncesvalles area of Toronto, where she attended school and ultimately met her beloved husband, Alfred, as a senior in high school.

They were happily married for 61 years before his passing in 2019. Rosemary was a beacon of warmth and compassion. Her heart overflowed with empathy, touching everyone around her with a gentle spirit that radiated love.

Despite facing numerous challenges and health setbacks, she remained resilient, emerging stronger and more determined with each obstacle encountered.

It was there, as well as her beautiful home in Toronto, that she felt most fulfilled and content.

A remembrance of Rosemary's life will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., starting with visitation at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army to honour Rosemary's memory and contribute to causes very close to her heart.
