French BarbaraFRENCH, Barbara Ellen   -

December 15, 1932 - March 29, 2024

After a brief illness, Barbara Ellen French (née Davies) passed away at the age of 91 at North York General Hospital in Toronto.

She was predeceased by her husband and high-school sweetheart, Guy French.

She leaves behind her children: Tim (Lee), Sandra (Robert) Mary Ellen (Peter), and Patrick; her grandchildren: Robert (David), Caitlin, Geoffrey (Emma), David (Katie), Meghan, and Rachel and her great-grandchild Lenora. Barbara was born and raised and married in Hamilton, Ontario.

Her parents were Harry and Alice Davies (nee Norsworthy). After she married Guy, they, along with their growing family, lived in Toronto, Winnipeg, Thornhill, Burlington, and Surrey U.K.

Barbara was a longtime-parishoner of St. Patrick's Anglican Church and then St. Timothy's Anglican Church. Her final years were happily spent at Amica Bayview Gardens.

All through her life she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her children extend their gratitude to all who were close to Barbara and supported her in love and friendship and laughter. And they wish to thank and acknowledge the incredible care and respect that was given to her by the doctors and nursing staff at North York General Hospital.

The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Avenue, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th. A funeral will be held at St. Timothy's Anglican Church (100 Old Orchard Grove, Toronto) on Wednesday, April 10th at 12:00 p.m. Reception in the Parish Hall to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to North York General Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
