TROSSMAN, Alva - Born July 23, 1936; died suddenly in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 1, 2018.
Mourned by her loving husband Bernie after 60 years of happy marriage.
Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Jeffrey (Paula Hurwitz), Cindy (David Goldfarb), Andrew (Marcy White) and Melanie (Jeff Rosenblum).
Devoted grandmother of Robbie, Jonathan, Rachel, Laura, Rebecca, Lauren, Adam, Julia, Jacob, Sierra and Jamie. Much loved sister, sister-in-law and aunt of Judy Bridge and her family.
Alva grew up in Montreal, where she graduated from McGill University. She studied physiotherapy, eventually pursuing a rewarding career in the area of childhood disability.
It was at McGill that she met Bernie, then a dashing young psychiatrist in training. Married in December, 1957, Alva and Bernie went on to raise four children in Montreal, and then Hamilton.
Just over 20 years ago, Alva and Bernie moved to Toronto to be closer to their children and the growing number of grandchildren.
Alva was passionate about the lives and accomplishments of each and every one of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West, for service on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 1 p.m.
