HOPTON, Sarah Margaret - June 10, 1952 - February 27, 2018 - Died peacefully in her bed, with her husband and two children by her side.

Wife, partner of nearly 50 years, best friend and sweetest love of Ted Iseman. Tender, selfless, endlessly giving mother and warmest sunbeam to her son Benjamin James Hopton Iseman (Adrienne Tam) and daughter Emily Kathryn Hopton Iseman.

First child, and joy, to her late parents George and Kathleen Hopton. First grandchild, adored by the families Hopton and Ross.

Big sister, loved so deeply by Bill Hopton (Joyce Kalsen) and the late James Douglas Hopton, whose inside jokes echo laughter still. Sister-in-law to Sharon Iseman (Joseph) and the late David Iseman and to Michelle Rosenblum (Howard).

Survived by her adoring aunt Carol and uncle Norman Wilson and cherished by uncle Sid Mendelson. Beloved aunt to Deborah Iseman-Apse, Stacey Iseman-Foster, Sandra Iseman, Michael Iseman, David Hopton, Beatrice Rosenblum and Lillian Rosenblum. Great-aunt to Mathias Iseman-Apse, Eva Iseman-Apse, Zephyr Iseman-Foster and Attica Iseman.

Big cousin and friend to her extended Geiger and Wilson families.

Sarah's love for the outdoors was fostered from a young age having spent her summers playing on the beach at Port Elgin with her cousins. She later became an avid canoeist, backcountry camper and expert blueberry forager. As a longtime member of the Bruce Trail Conservancy, Sarah shared in the joy of countless hikes in all seasons, eventually serving as a Hike Leader for the Toronto Bruce Trail Club. For many summers she and Ted ventured to explore and camp in the backcountry of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia with Skyline Hikers of the Canadian Rockies. Sarah and Ted served as hosts for Camp 5 for many years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Bruce Trail Conservancy, or Habitat for Humanity.

Mourners are encouraged to join the family at the home (159 Esther Crescent, Thornhill) Friday, March 2nd, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 3rd, 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, March 4th, 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
