Evans RichardEVANS, Richard Joseph  - 91 Richard (Dick) Evans, passed away peacefully in Toronto on April 10, 2018.

Richard was one of 6 children born in Toronto on April 24, 1926 to Elizabeth and William Evans.

He married the late Jeanne Evans in 1951 and they shared 60 wonderful years together parenting two sons and a daughter.

Dick worked for Xerox for 22 years and then went on to retire from Canon in 1989.

He was a proud and active member of AA for 44 years helping hundreds find their way to sobriety and a better life.

He will be remembered fondly by many for his gregarious nature and his loving and generous heart. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanne in 2011; his devoted daughter Karen in 2013; and siblings Arthur, Bill, Bob, Jack and Frances.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his sons Wayne (wife Marylin) and Warren (wife Melanie); son-in-law Robert and his four grandchildren Sean, Julian, Matthew and Jake along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the staff at the Del Manor Wynford Drive for their loving support over the past 5 ½ years.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Jerrett North York Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St., from 12 noon until time of the Celebration of Life Service which will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Toronto General Hospital – Peter Munk Cardiac Centre or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
