MARTINO, Dora  - January 10, 1938 - June 16, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Dora Martino.

On Saturday, June 16, 2018, Dora passed away peacefully following a long struggle with Alzheimer's.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Luigi Martino.

Loving mother of Laura (James), Giuseppe (Eleonora) and Margherita Martino.

Devoted Nonna of Maria-Assunta, Frederica and Luca. Predeceased by her cherished parents Assunta Palma and Domenico Settino. Dora was born and raised in Montalto Uffugo, Cosenza, Calabria in Italy and came to Canada as a young woman with her husband Luigi and young daughter, Laura.

With lots of hard work and plenty of good times, she raised her family with all of the opportunities her new homeland had to offer. Dora loved her husband, children and grandchildren and adored James and Eleonora.

Her flower garden and, especially her roses, were her passion. When life got tough, she rolled with the punches and dished out some of her own. She was a fighter. Dora will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her extended family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St.) on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Ave., at Dufferin St.) on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow.

In memory of Dora, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.

May she rest in peace.
