Kuroda LilyKURODA, Lily Toshimi (nee NAKANO)   - September 19, 1932 – March 7, 2021

Passed away peacefully at her home in Scarborough, ON, on March 7, 2021.

Beloved wife to Mits for 64 years, loving mother to Dana (Cliff), most adored Nana to Cameron and Garrett, cherished sister to Leatrice, dearest aunt to Kevin (Yoko), Karen (Cary), Jaimie (Joel), and Adam (Emiline) and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Predeceased by her parents, Takeo and Yukie Nakano; parents-in-law, Genjiro and Hatsumi Kuroda; sisters-in-law, Toshiko, Fumiko, Mary, Tomi, and Sue; and brothers-in-law, Kaz, Mas, Herb, and Joe.

Lily was born in Woodfibre, BC, and when World War II began, she was sent to an evacuation camp with her mother in Greenwood, BC, until they were reunited with her father in Toronto in 1943.

She continued her education in Toronto and attended Central Technical School where she met Mits in 1947. They began dating in 1953 and were married in 1956. Their daughter, Dana, was born in 1962.

Lily began her career as a medical lab technologist and continued as such for many years.

In 1984, after the sudden passing of her mother, she resigned her position at Scarborough General Hospital to help care for her now widowed father.

She enjoyed working and continued to work part time until she was 75.

In her spare time, Lily truly enjoyed travelling the world with both family and many close friends.

Due to restrictions of COVID-19, only a private family service is permitted at this time. The family plans to have a 'Celebration of Life' for Lily at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or koden, donations may be made to JCCC or Momiji Health Care Societ.
