Litman JosephLITMAN, Joseph - Wednesday, May 26, 2021, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joe, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Joe recently celebrated his 94th birthday.

He said he lived a full life with his beloved wife Mona. Joe and Mona were married for 71 years.

Joe had a sister, the late Ann Porter and two brothers Abe Litman and the late Sol Litman.

Their parents, Max and Rose Litman immigrated to Canada in 1927 from Poland.

They grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds and tastes of the Jewish Montreal.

Joe met Mona while working together in Montreal. He knew the moment he met her that she was the one. He even told her so on their first date and she laughed. Mona proved she could put up with him and his sense of humour after he gave her halvah for the first time with some cola. The combination exploded with bubbles from her mouth.

They were married on January 25, 1950, about two years after they met. They made the perfect team.

As his children, we would comment on his corny sense of humour however he always insisted that his sense of humour was important to his success.

Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mona and his children, Howard and Marilyn Litman, Nathan and Beverley Litman, Barry Litman and Dr. Julie Kovacs, and Paula Litman as well as his grandchildren, Jessica, Valerie and Shay, Richard and Sol, Jennifer and Richard, Marianne and Andrew, Kevin, Dr. Adam, Gabrielle, Jonathan and great-grandsons William, Wesley, Otis, Adam, and great- granddaughter Maxwell. Joe will always be remembered for his sense of humour, charm, and love for his family.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 28, 2021.
