LETZ, Loretta Frances (nee Wright)   - June 13, 1947 – April 3, 2021

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta after a short battle with cancer.

She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 53 years Dieter (2018), her father Gordon Wright (1990), her mother Margaret (1992), her grandmother Eleanor Seaton (1975), her niece Kimberley (1999) and both of her in-laws, Charlotte (1984) and Ralf (2013) Letz.

Loretta is survived by her 2 daughters, Jennifer (Ray) and Catharine, her grandson Tyrell (Tanika) and her great-grandson Darien, as well as her sisters Frances (Mario) Drake, Rebecca (Hugh) Wilkinson, Carolyn Toth, half-sisters Colleen DeMan, Gloria (Courtney) Caverley, half-brother Stephen Winfrey, and step-sister Carole Allin.

She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Brigitte, nieces and nephews and many friends and especially her purring companion “Indy”.

Loretta was born in Toronto and lived throughout the city until she graduated Grade 12 at Midland Avenue Collegiate Institute in 1965. After dating Dieter for 2 years they were married in September of that year.

They lived in Scarborough where their two daughters were born and in 1971 they moved to Oshawa.

In 2010 Dieter and Loretta moved into Wilmot Creek (an adult-lifestyle community) in Newcastle.

Dieter and Loretta made many new friends and acquaintances in Wilmot Creek, and participated in many activities together such as Bingo and bowling.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

“Family is Everything”

As per Loretta’s request cremation has already taken place and there will be no formal service.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
