VARTY, Lewis George Wellington - Passed away peacefully at Wynfield LTC on April 11, 2021, at the age of 91.
Beloved husband to the late Barbara Varty for 64 years.
Loving father of Gerald (Hetty) Varty, Karen (Doug) Tulk, Darlene (John) Burns, George (Brenda) Varty, and Glenn.
Grandpa to Carolyn, Michael, Heather, Alicia, Jenna-Lee, Brett, Marci, Kristen, Derek, Craig, Sheryl, Julie, Daryll, Bradley, Brent.
Great Grampa to 21 great grandchildren. Brother to Gordon (Marion) Varty, Ross (Irene) Varty, Eileen (Bob) Nelson, Shirley (Ken) Fahey and predeceased by Ruth Moffat and Lillian Varty.
George worked at General Motors for 35 years and retired as a supervisor. He was a talented craftsman; he was quite the outdoorsman and was a hard worker. He loved to cajole with anyone who would engage him and took great delight in playing the devil’s advocate.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Wynfield LTC, who provided George with outstanding care.
A limited number of visitors can be scheduled for visitation due to Covid restrictions.
Therefore, a private family visitation will take place in the afternoon of Friday April 16th.
