VOGELS, Johanna Vogels (Koks)  - Johanna (Ann) Maria Vogels (nee Koks) died peacefully and comfortably at home with her three eldest daughters by her side in the early morning of Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 96 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Marinus (Mike) Vogels.

Loving mom to Maria (Bill) MacDonald, Harry Vogels (Kelly), Irene (Don) Martin, Joanne (Darrell) Darling, Marty (Angie) Vogels, John Vogels (Tia), Tony Vogels (d: Jan 10, 1982) and Josey Vogels (Daniel).

Oma to Krista, Kathryn, Michelle, Kyle, Mike, Michael, Shawn, Avarie-Rose, Tony, Abigail and Ben.

Omama to several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survived by sister Lena Paxton and brother Jeff Koks. Predeceased by seven sisters and brothers and their spouses and five sister and brother-in-laws and their spouses.

Remembered with much love by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and the Netherlands.

Mom lived through so much in the almost century she was here — vast social and technological changes, WWII, immigrating to Canada with two small children, running a farm, raising eight kids, losing her youngest son and her husband. For the last two years, she soldiered bravely and gracefully through two knee surgeries, and, of course, this pandemic, ever practical, rarely complaining, always positive.

Her resilience, strength, and poise have been an inspiration to us all.

Due to the pandemic, a small family service will be held.

If desired, donations in her honour can be made to the following: (VHA) Hospice Care , Community Care Durham , St Francis of Assisi Church,  St Vincent de Paul or Bowmanville Hospital.
