TOBIN, Michael Thomas Tobin  -  We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Michael Thomas Tobin at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Bowmanville on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Michael was born April 1st 1940, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland.

Beloved husband to Winnie (nee Irvine) for the past 60 years and was a longtime resident of Port Perry.

Cherished father to Michael Wayne Tobin (deceased), Robert (Stasey), and Nancy (Tim).

Proud grandfather of Kyle (Christine), Adam and Emma and great-grandfather of Max and Zoe.

The puppies Kessel, Kit, Millie, Marty and Luna will miss their Grampie.

He will also be missed by his Japanese exchange student and longtime friends, Ikuyo Yanigasawa (Dr. Robert Yanagisawa) and their children Sayna and Emi.

Mike will be missed by his golf buddies and the “Thursday lunch gang”.

Mike could usually be found with a camera in tow photographing everything from local kid’s sports teams, to wildlife.

While raising 3 children Mike kept busy in his community, whether it was coaching Tyke hockey, attending the Oshawa Generals hockey games or just out for a drive with Win.

He retired from General Motors after 32 years of service and began to enjoy his golf once again (as he couldn’t beat Win at tennis).

Mike enjoyed many memorable photography excursions including British Columbia, Churchill, Manitoba, Japan, Newfoundland and the Arctic.

Private arrangements.   Interment, Prince Albert.

In lieu of flowers or donations Mike would have loved it if you simply topped up your bird feeders and hugged your kids and grandkids.
