BEST, Marie Betty (nee Kuno) Best   - June 17, 1930 – December 24, 2021

Marie Best passed away with family by her side on December 24, 2021 at Fairview Lodge in Whitby.

Mother of Yvonne (Nestor Chornobay), Elaine (Bob Darling, deceased), Barry (Kathie) and Dale (Samantha).

Grandmother of Sonya Darling, Paul (Natalia) and Liane Chornobay and Chelsea Best.

Great grandmother of  Paige, Morgan and Cooper Seeley and Henry Chornobay.

She had been predeceased by parents Bill and Sadie Kuno, husband Mac in 1999,  sister Lois Conley (Morley, deceased) in 2015 and infant brother Orville in 1931.

She is survived by sister Lorna Freymond (John, deceased), brother Murray (Marilyn) and sisters Anne Leveque (Gerald) and Linda Tarrant (Paul, deceased) as well as brother-in-law Claude Best (Gwen) and sisters-in-law Betty Kuno (Maral, deceased) and Bessie Best (Joe, deceased).

She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Marie was raised in Monteagle Township and attended high school in Eganville and the newly created North Hastings High School in Bancroft.

She married Mac in 1951 and their family grew in the next 5 years.  While she struggled after Mac died, she made a great effort to keep busy.  Marie lived in long term care for the last 11 years.  She adjusted and enjoyed visits from family.  We will be forever grateful for the kind, compassionate care by staff in the Trafalgar Square and Marigold Lane units at Fairview Lodge.

Marie will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all her knew her.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and buried next to Mac in the cemetery at Christ Lutheran Church, Maynooth at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
