Punzo AngelaPUNZO, Angela Punzo   -  March 1, 1946 – February 4, 2022

Passed away in her home in Whitby on February 4, 2022, just one month shy of her 76th birthday.

After a long and courageous battle for over two years with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer, she redefined what it meant to have strength, bravery, and determination.

She faced the unfair hand that she was dealt with selflessness, never complaining and always continued to set an example of fortitude, as she has throughout her whole life, trying to minimize the pain and suffering on her family, through her fight through 22 rounds of chemotherapy.

Born March 1, 1946 in the small town of Bitetto, Bari, Italy she made the long journey to Canada in 1960, landing in Halifax with her mother and sister, at the age of 14.

She resided in Toronto with her parents Maria and Vito Fazio until the age of 17 where she embraced hard work as a jeweller to aid the family and learning the English language.

Married in 1963 at the age of 17 to Francesco Punzo she began her dedication to her family and maintaining her immaculate home.

They spent the next 58.5 years together and she was a devoted mother to her three children Emanuel, Mirella and Anna-Maria.

Much to her joy and making dreams come true she became a Nonna to 4 beautiful grandchildren.

Her first flower Angelica which she planted in garden as grandmother arrived in 2001 followed by her next flowers Francesco (2005), Marisa (2007) and Noah (2010).

She embraced looking after her precious angels as babies and continued to offer life lessons as they grew older. Known for her selflessness, caring and compassion combined with her infectious personality, everybody wanted to know and be around her.

Famous for her cooking and religious dedication to tradition, her legacy will live on through countless memories that she was responsible for creating.

Angela is survived by her husband Francesco Punzo; her mother Maria Fazio; 3 children: Emmanuel Punzo (Amy), Mirella Punzo, Anna-Maria Cluff (David): 1 sister: Palma Cellemare (Nick); 4 grandchilden: Angelica Punzo, Francesco Punzo, Marisa Cluff, and Noah Cluff; as well several nieces, nephews and extended family.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway,
And Memories A Lane,
I’d walk Right Up To Heaven
And Bring You Home Again
