Peters WilliamPETERS, William "Bill" E. Peters   -  February 1, 1931 - December 25, 2022

Bill passed away peacefully on Christmas Day with his loving wife Mary by his side, as she has been for the last 66 years of their marriage.

He was a beloved son to the late Geraldine and William Peters and will be missed by his sister Carol Himmer of Florida, the late Donna Davidson and younger brother Jim Peters, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Bill was an avid sports lover.  As a young boy he played hockey with the Sudbury Wolves and for The Smith Truckmen who won the Senior B Championship.

He enjoyed playing a round of golf with the guys and at times took out a rod and reel.

He enjoyed watching and supporting the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays from the comfort of his home.

Bill worked for General Motors for 35 years before retiring in 1986.

He started out in the purchasing department in Oshawa, was transferred to Quebec for 10 years to help start a new plant, before ending his career as a Divisional Buyer back in Oshawa.

Bill and Mary were snowbirds and loved the many years they spent in Florida during the winter months and travelling.

He lead a life well lived and treasured his wife Mary, she was completely devoted to him right to the end and never left his side.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and PSW’s who came into their home, and a special thanks to Femmie for taking such great and loving care of him.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Parkinson’s Foundation.

Online condolences may be shared at  armstrongfh.ca .
