It is with profound sadness the family of Brenda May Summerhill, 69, of Whitby, Ontario announce she passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
Brenda was born May 9, 1954 in Sale, Cheshire, England.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur, eldest stepson Scott, parents Harold and Elizabeth, her brother Thomas, sister Eileen, brother-in-law Brian, brother-in-law Robert and sister-in-law Rita.
Brenda is survived by her sons Derek (Lisa), Wes (Brenna), Mike (Robynn) and her stepsons Steven (Amanda), Kevin (Ashley) and stepdaughter Lindsay.
Adored Grandmother to Peter, Charlotte, Hazel, Roselyn, Joe, Sarah, Sadie, Sophia and Matteo.
Brenda will be forever missed by her sister Ann in Scotland, sister Mary (Terry) in Australia, sister-in-law Sandra in Australia, brother Steven (Pat) in Australia, brother Denis (Sally) from England, brother-in-law David (Karen) in Scotland and brother-in-law Brian in Scotland.
Brenda cherished spending time with her family and close friends, enjoyed cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays and travelling with Arthur.
Known for her gentleness, kindness and positive outlook.
Brenda will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.
The family appreciates all of your kind gestures during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life for Brenda will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at THORNTON CEMETERY and FUNERAL CENTRE , 1200 Thornton Rd N, Oshawa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Brenda's memory may be made to the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre.
