GARDNER, Linda (Lynne) Marie In Loving Memory It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Linda (Lynne) Marie Gardner, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on September 11, 1956, to Ronald and Betty Gardner.
Linda passed away in her home in Pickering, Ontario, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Linda lived a very full life in her short 67 years.
She was a fiercely strong, independent and resilient woman. She was also a daughter, a wife (formerly married to Michael Bryant for 36 years), a mother, a friend, and a loyal and compassionate caretaker. Linda gave generously to those around her, and her empathy and compassion knew no bounds.
She spent many years caring for her mother, Betty; her sister, Bonnie; and her brother, Tom, before their deaths. Even as her own illness encroached aggressively, she prioritized her siblings' care.
Linda was the ultimate host, who loved to cook and bake for her loved ones.
She was also a woman of faith, a collector of beautiful things, a traveller, a homemaker, an entrepreneur, and a tremendously hard worker.
Linda was passionate, protective, and she tried her very best each and every day. Linda will be remembered for her laugh, her generosity, her attention to detail, her joy of cooking, her love of holidays, her deep affection for her friends and family and her beloved cat, Sammy.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Ashley Bryant, Jaclyn Bryant; her son-in-law, Brodie Christ; and granddaughter, Sinclair, whom she loved with all her heart. Linda is also survived by her brother, Corey Gardner; and her nephews, Iann and Adam Gardner; as well as several great-aunts and uncles, and cousins (on both the Gardner and Kaskiw side), who brought her so much love and joy.
Her closest friends, Henrietta Price ("Hugs! Hugs! Hugs!") and Alicia Barry ("Linda, Linda, Linda - listen, listen"), cared and supported her until her very last day.
We are forever grateful to Henrietta and Alicia for their love and support of our dear mother.
A special thank you to Dianne and Bill Mathews, and Rick and Katrin Cowan.
Thank you also to all the truly wonderful PSWs and caregivers my mother had in her life. You were a continuous source of strength, kindness and love for her. "Love you to the moon and back", Mom.
