SMITH, Frances (Fran) Elizabeth (nee Trodd) Smith  -
1940 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Fran Smith on April 11, 2024 at the age of 84.

Fran was born in East York on January 22, 1940 to loving parents Len and Mabel Trodd.

From an early age, Fran was a go-getter who always worked hard to reach her goals. At the tender age of 16, Fran met her one and only love Norman Smith who she married on June 27, 1959.

Throughout their lives together, Fran and Norm traveled the world extensively.

Fran volunteered as the President of HLPOA for many years and was also involved in various charities in Mexico. Her efforts helped make both communities a better place.

Fran is survived and forever will be missed by her devoted and loving husband Norm, daughter Lenore, son-in-law Blair and daughter-in-law Grace. Cherished and caring Nanny to Colin (Melissa), Craig (Teagan), Lucas and Aaron. Proud Great-Nanny to Cole, Audrey and Aria.

Fran is also survived by a host of dear extended family and special friends.

Fran was predeceased by infant daughters Christine (1963), Louise (1964) and beloved son Robert (2020).

A funeral service for Fran will be held on Saturday April 27th.  Arrangements with Destefano Funeral Home.

In memory of Fran, the family requests donations be made to Parkinson Canada or a charity of choice.

Fran and Norm were known as the couple who never left the dance floor.

"Two lives live as one. Partners again in the eternal dance."
