EISSLER, Erich - We are saddened to announce that Erich Anton Eissler passed away peacefully, on March 31, 2024, in his 85th year, at North York General Hospital.
Erich was born on June 19, 1938, to Lili and Franz Josef Eissler in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The family immigrated back to Vienna, Austria, following the Second World War. In 1962, Erich immigrated to Toronto, Canada, where he studied engineering at Ryerson Polytechnic Institute; he then became an instrumental employee at Ontario Hydro where his work supported the Nuclear Power Program.
Erich retired in 1993 and dedicated his remaining years to helping others and maintaining friendships. Survived by his brother, Baldur (Helga); his former wife, Brigitte Kaminski; his sons, Eric (Kathy) and Mark (Leeanne); and his daughter, Susie.
Loving Opa to Maedelein, Zachary, and Bridget. Preceded in death by his father, Franz Josef; his mother, Lili; and his stepmother, Marcelle. Erich's lively and warmhearted spirit will be fondly remembered by his family, and his many friends and neighbours.
A funeral service will be held at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel, on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.
