MOLLICA, Anthony "Tony" Salvatore -
August 6, 1939 - March 31, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce Tony's passing on March 31, 2024 in Rome, Italy.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth "Betty;" his three children, Pamela (Joshua), Karen (Dan) and David (Andrea); his three grandchildren, Luke, Alex and Max; many extended family members and countless friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Domenica; and his brothers, Pasquale and Domenico.
Born in Motticella in Reggio Calabria, Italy, Tony immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1951. He quickly developed an affinity for teaching.
Despite his own achievements, Tony was even prouder of those of his family. His unconditional love and support was so evident in every interaction he had with his kids and grandkids. He celebrated their accomplishments in career, school, sport, leisure and life as loudly as anyone.
He was particularly proud of the families his children created and cherished the time he spent with them. Tony, Dad, Nonno - we cherish the time we had with you. We love you and we will miss you dearly.
Tony's family will receive Visitors on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Highway, Thorold. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at. St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 90 Griffith St., Welland. Entombment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards an educational scholarship in Tony's honour. Details will follow.
