MAINPRIZE, William (Bill) Edward - June 26, 1933 - June 9, 2020
With heartfelt sadness we announce that William (Bill) passed away at North York General Hospital on June 9, 2020, at the age of 86 after beating COVID-19 and enduring a long valiant battle with Parkinson's.
In 1964 Bill and his new bride, Marguerite, moved to the newly-developed Willowdale, Leslie and Nymark neighbourhood where he lived for 48 years.
He had a 40-year career at IBM, which always stood for "I'm Bill Mainprize".
Above all, Bill took immense pride in his family and friends.

GIMNIDIS, Costantinos - 86, passed away on June 9, 2020 from pancreatic cancer in Oshawa Ontario.
Costantinos Gimnidis is survived by his wife Dimitra of 61 years.
Loving father to Jenny(Gus) and George (Rose).
Adored papou to his grandchildren of 4, Dimitre, Peter, Alexis and Gabriel.
Costantinos was a family man who loved and cherished his wife dearly, loved his children and his grandchildren.

MCKENZIE, James Reid - Known to friends and colleagues as Jim, died on June 9, 2020 at the age of 72.
Jim was born on June 11, 1947 to Murdo and Peggy McKenzie.
He grew up in Toronto with his three siblings: Eleanor, Douglas and Margaret.
Jim met and married the love of his life, Heather, on July 7, 1972. They welcomed their daughters, Sarah and Kirsty into the world in 1979 and 1982. Sarah and her husband Dana Stringer blessed Jim and Heather with two cherished grandchildren, Violet, in 2011 and Henry, in 2013.

HAYWORTH, Sandra Gail - August 12, 1945 – June 9, 2020
Peacefully after a long illness, survived by her beloved husband Donald Lapenny, her sons Anton Alexiou (Shelly), Alexander Alexiou (Jennifer), stepsons Brian and Michael (Shawn) Lapenny and grandsons Noah and John Alexiou.
Sandy was a gifted artist and sculptor whose creations were admired by many in the Bahamas and Canada.
She had the unique gift of turning a house into a home and making everyone who entered feel welcome and cherished.
She was the eldest of eight girls born to Donald and Jean Hayworth (both deceased).

SAMILA, Susan - 1938 - 2020 Susan Samila died peacefully, at her home in Perth on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, comforted by her beloved daughter Maya and son Ivan (Colleen) and devoted partner Allan Cassell.
Diagnosed with terminal cancer in September 2019, Susan had eight months to reflect and be profoundly grateful for the gift of life, her own good fortune, her family, sister Pam (Allan), brother Dan (Midge), nieces, nephews and great-niece and friends whom she respected and loved so very much and the wondrous beauty of the natural world.

RYPMA, Roy - (May 6, 1943 - June 9, 2020) - Sadly Roy left us after a valiant struggle with glioblastoma and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

COULL, Joyce (nee BARDWELL) - 1925 - 2020 Loving wife of the late Russell Coull, passed away peacefully aged 95 years on June 9th, at St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal.

REID, Alice Elizabeth (nee Currie) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Elizabeth Reid (nee Currie). She was born on June 9th, 1926 and left us 94 years later, on her birthday: June 9th, 2020.
Alice is reunited with the love of her life, James Reid, after surviving a broken heart for over 13 months without him.
She was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to a father and mother who were highly regarded in their community for their various roles and contributions. She studied at both Francis Xavier and McGill University and became a Bacteriologist. She worked in her field until she became a mother, and at that time decided to leave the profession to raise her family.

BIRCHMORE, Doreen 'Dee' - It is with great sadness that 'Dee' passed away Tuesday June 9, 2020 at Toronto General Hospital.
Dee lived life to the fullest, becoming a registered nurse, flight stewardess, psychologist, pilot, and accomplished painter. She loved cooking, travelling, orchids and her many cats.
Dee had a great working career at the Donwood Institute. She received her Masters in Education and practised group therapy and family therapy. She was promoted to the Director of the Day Clinic and became the first recipient of the Nath Nayar Memorial Research Award.

HYER, Janet Hyer - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Hyer on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Toronto.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ruth (née Fisher) & Roy Hyer, and by her brother, Norman.
Born in Lachine, Quebec, Janet lived in Wichita, Kansas as a young child due to her father’s job, moving to Edmonton, then Ottawa, and to Toronto to pursue graduate studies. She attended Ottawa’s Nepean High School and Carleton University, and earned a PhD in 2007 in political science from the University of Toronto.

SIEBERT, Peter Edmund - (1957 - 2020) - Lost but never forgotten; loved forever.
On Monday June 8th, 2020, Peter Edmund Siebert lost his 7.5 week battle with GBM. He fought bravely with his family fighting for him to have multiple doctors attempt to find something that would help.
Predeceased by his father Edmund Anton Siebert in 1985, he can now enjoy a drink with his father once again, after 35 years. Peter is also recently predeceased by his step-father Rolf Seiffert. Peter is survived by his loving mother Margarete Siebert/Seiffert.
Peter has left behind his wonderful wife Heather and three amazing adult children Karl, Krystal, and Kyle and his daughter-in-law Kendra. He departed for the heavens with his family by his side.

DENIS, Maurice Joseph - (1942 - 2020) - Early on June 8th, 2020, surrounded by his daughters, our father passed away after a long battle with cancer.
We will, when it’s safe, have a celebration of life.
Our father was not afraid to die, he told us often he would be going home. He would finally get to see our mom (Marilyn), Meghan, his grandson Owen, his brothers Jerry and Jimmy, his sister Anne, his parents and all his friends.

Jean Paul Lamarche, or (Just Plain Lucky), as I like to say, moves on today, to another “opportunity.” I will be back in a new and hopefully improved model. I have enjoyed over 25,000 days of living and celebrated almost every day with a smile and handshake for all.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, oldest of a family of 18. It can be said that I was not necessarily dealt a great hand, but what can be said is that I played it well.

BETRO, Saverio - (December 7, 1930 - June 8, 2020) -
Born in Sant’Andrea Apostolo Dello Jonio, Italy, Saverio Betrò, immigrated to Canada in 1958 and married the love of his life Sisa in November of that same year.
He was a master carpenter who loved working with wood, dancing and telling jokes.
He fought valiantly his battle with cancer for one year and succumbed peacefully on June 8th, 2020, surrounded by family in his final hours.
