MacLellan MaryMACLELLAN, Mary Teresa  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Teresa MacLellan on August 16, 2018 - formerly from Dunvegan, Cape Breton.

Mary Teresa was predeceased by her parents John Archie and Marjorie, and her brother Fr. Donald MacLellan.

She is survived by her loving sisters Jessie (late Francis) Nicholson, Marcella (Danny) Doucet, and Peggy (Bernie) Kennedy.

Mary Teresa was a dear Aunt to Donald, Darryl, Dean, Debbie, John, and Joseph.

She also cherished being the Grand Aunt to Joey, Jordan, Erin, Jessica, and Bernard.

Mary Teresa was passionate about teaching, a job she began at the age of 18 in Inverness county, one which she would continue in Toronto, Ontario where she taught for many years for the Toronto Catholic School Board. Mary Teresa dedicated her life to family and faith. She held a deep knowledge of her family roots and was always interested in learning about the roots of those whom she would meet throughout her day. If you ever bumped into her you would most likely be met with the questions, 'Where are you from?' And some follow up questions about your family. Or if she was in her home of Cape Breton she would always ask the young people the famous Cape Breton question, 'Whose your mother, whose your father?' Her curiosity to know more about those she met exemplified her love of people, family, and relationships. She always had a rosary with her and prayed constantly for the intentions of others. She was famously known for telling everyone to 'put the sign of the cross in front of you everywhere you go.' The only thing Mary Teresa would ever ask of another was a prayer, and you could be assured that she would be praying for you too.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the McCall Centre 140 Sherway Drive Etobicoke, Ontario M9C 1A4.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Peel' Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 2-4 p.m.
