WOOLHAM, Alan Geoffrey - January 7, 1948 - August 19, 2018
Alan died in the early morning of Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Toronto at the age of 70.
He will be remembered by his wife Wendy Shingler, his son Gaelan Woolham, his daughter-in-law Kierstan Hong and two grandchildren, Aidan and Emily.
Alan was born in Shrewsbury, England in 1948 to Geoffrey and Mary Lucy Woolham and has an older brother Frank. After graduating with a degree in architecture at the University of Liverpool, Alan moved to Canada in 1971.
Initially settling in Montreal where he met Wendy, they moved to Toronto in 1978 with their son. Alan worked at several architecture firms, including Arcop where he rose to be a partner in the firm.
He had worked on commercial, cultural and residential projects around the world.
Alan continued in private practice over the years and as an adjunct professor at Ryerson University School of Architecture until his retirement.
He will be remembered as a private man, with an exceptional intelligence and curiosity and a dry humor. His wife, son and grandchildren, family and friends will miss him very much.
A memorial and burial will be held at the Toronto Necropolis on Saturday, September 15th at 2 p.m.
