Hubicki AmyHUBICKI, Amy Dorothy Eva (nee BURFIELD)   - Dorothy passed away peacefully at home in Cobourg, Ontario on November 20, 2018 at the age of 85.

Born in Toronto to George and Dorothy Burfield, Dorothy was much loved and will be greatly missed by her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, John Hubicki, her children Wendy Fedec (Tom), Michael (Tina), Lisa Smith (Ron) and Laura Manley (Les), and her three grandchildren: Hannah, Cole and Christian.

Dorothy is survived by her only sibling, George Burfield Jr. of Toronto. Dorothy attended Western Tech High School in Toronto where she excelled academically and was hired upon graduation to work in the school office.

After marrying and moving to Peterborough, Ontario, Dorothy and John began raising their family, later relocating to Cobourg in 1964 where they remained and were active in the community.

She enjoyed working with the hospital auxiliary, taking aqua-fit classes at the YMCA and spending time with her friends. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first and was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. She handled all of life's ups and downs with grace, strength and humour.

The family would like to thank Dr. Emma Smith as well as all the nurses and wonderful personal support workers who cared for Dorothy over the past two and a half years with compassion, love and dedication.

A private service will be held at a later date.

If wished, donations in commemoration of Dorothy can be made to either the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation (nhhfoundation. ca) or to the Northumberland Hospice Care Centre (northumberlandhospice.ca).
