STEPHENSON, William George  -  On December 11th 2018, Bill passed away peacefully.

Loving husband of the late Verna Patricia (née Chisholm).

Son of the late Joseph and Annie Stephenson.

Predeceased by brothers Frank, Chuck, Jack, Norm and sisters Mary, Margaret, Bernie and Catherine. Brother of Ray.

Dear father of Paul (Luanne), Gerry (Sue), Rob (Sandra) and Tom (Cathy). He will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Sean (Karen), Kyle (Holly), Brooke, Sarah (Jim), Luke (Meaghan), Jeremie, Nico, Leo, Anna, Jill, John and great grandchildren Jayden, Paige, Elle, Gordon, Callum and Torin.

Bill was raised in east Toronto and met Verna at a bowling event organised by the local church, where they were later married. They spent their courting days in the dance halls of Toronto and settled down in Scarborough to raise a family. Bill became President of Lamson Conveyors and subsequently formed a successful partnership, SMB Handling Systems Ltd.  He loved to sing and had an uncanny ability to remember old songs from the 30’s and 40’s. He laughed hard and often and could barely finish a joke before succumbing to uncontrollable laughter. He was a loving husband, a great dad and the best Gramps ever. Bill will be missed by many relations and friends.

Many thanks from the family to the caring staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket, ON.

Visitation at McDougall & Brown - Scarborough Chapel, 2900 Kingston Rd. (east of St. Clair) on Thursday, December 13th, from 6-8 PM. Memorial service in the Chapel on Friday December 14th, 2018 at 11 AM with visitation from 10am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Margaret Bahen Hospice, 653 Queen St., Newmarket, ON., would be appreciated by the family.
