Tyrell DilysTYRELL, Dilys Estellel (Jones) - Aged 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Sunnybrook Palliative Care Facility Friday, January 4, 2019.

Dilys was born to Meryl Baker and Norman Jones (deceased) in Kingston, Ontario on February 25th, 1949.

She was a loving wife for over 47 years to Don Tyrrell and a loving mother to Cynthia (Tom) Michalic and Andrew (Anita).

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Morgan and Brooke Michalic.

She was completely devoted to her mother and father. Dilys was also a beloved sister to her brothers Rhys Jones and Morgwn Jones (deceased).

Dilys was an avid horseback rider who competed successfully for several years in jumping competitions with her cherished mare Ali Kazam. In recent years she enjoyed much pleasure riding on her younger horse, Chance (often accompanied by Don while Ali was still in good health). Dilys enjoyed many wonderful friendships made through her love of horseback riding.

Dilys and Don were blessed to enjoy many years of retirement with the opportunity for wonderful family time including shared vacations, extended family visits and spending time helping with grandchildren. In retirement they have been fortunate to share extensive travel adventures around the world.

Dilys and Don met in 1969 at IBM and later both worked for many years at TD Bank. They continued to enjoy the many friendships made during their careers.

In the last few weeks before her passing Dilys was greatly touched by the outpouring of love and support from her many friends. Her family extends their gratitude for all those kind wishes.

By her wishes, Dilys will be cremated. The family will decide on a possible internment location at a later date and it will be a private event when it happens.

The family knows that many people will wish to pay their respects and share reminiscences with them. A visitation Will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham, ON on Saturday, January 12th between 1:00 and 5:00. Hers was a life well-lived. The family plans to hold a “celebration of life” event for family and close friends in a few months (location, time, and details in due course).

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sunnybrook Hospital, or a similar charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
