Marella MariaMARELLA, Maria Paz (Concepcion) - Aged 76, passed away at Scarborough Grace Hospital on May 7, 2019 at 2:35 am.

She was born on May 12th, 1942 in Manila, Philippines to Isabelo and Concepcion B. Concepcion.

Maria Paz (Pacita) is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Mariano; her two daughters and their husbands, Esperanza (Ariel) Mina and Elenita (Christopher) Decastro; and her five grandchildren - Mathieu, Janine, Nikolete, Christopher and Jade.

Pacita came to Toronto, Canada with her young family in March 1974 and raised them in Scarborough, Ontario. She was a stay at home mom to “Pinki” and “Ellen” and spent many hours baking cakes and pastries and making her well known homemade food. She always loved a good family party.

She loved travelling with her family, often taking road trips and long flights around the world. She and Mar visited their extended family in the Philippines several times after she moved to Canada and travelled to many countries around the world, including Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Portugal to name a few, and including her favourite destination -- The Holy Land.

“Lola” and “Mama Paz” will be greatly missed by her family and her friends. She will be remembered for her loving and generous demeanor, sense of humor and her faith in God. She loved to cook and loved parties. And most of all, she loved her family and her grandchildren.

The visitation hours for Pacita will be held on Wednesday May 8th from 5 - 9 pm and Thursday May 9th from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 9 pm for her many extended family members and beloved friends. All are invited to attend to pay their respects and celebrate her life.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday May 10th at St. Barnabas Parish, 10 Washburn Way, Scarborough at 10 am. Interment will be immediately after the mass.
