FORTINI, Ivana (nee Ricordi) - (March 2, 1934 – May 7, 2019)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear, sweet Mother, Ivana Gilda, surrounded by her loving family, after a brave and courageous battle with heart disease.
Beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Fortini and cherished Mother to Lora (Peter), Cinzia (Michael) and Cadia (John).
Loving Nonna to Emily (Mario), Natalie (A.J.), Christopher (Catherine), Rachael and Andrew (Dimitra). Proudest Nonna-Nonna to Daniela, Dario and Rocco.
Ivana will be dearly missed by her sisters Mafalda and Emma, her brother Nino (Aida), many loving nephews, nieces, family and friends in Canada, Italy, France and the United States.
Ivana will be welcomed with open arms by her beloved husband, parents, siblings and loved ones who passed before her.
Mom was a talented seamstress, enjoyed gardening, playing cards and loved family gatherings. She was a loving mother and wife, a faithful friend (Maria Catalano) and kind neighbour to many. Her joyful spirit, wisdom and love for her family and friends will live on in our hearts forever.
The family wishes to thank Dr. V. Rambihar for 38 years of exceptional cardiac care, Dr. C. Mastrogiacomo for her care and support and the attending staff at Sunnybrook Hospital and Toronto Scarborough Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13th from 3:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 14th at 12:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 2210 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough.
