ABBOTT, Debbie  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah (Debbie) Abbott (nee Burgess), on September 30, 2019 at the age of 66.

She will be forever loved and sorely missed by her beloved daughters Laurie, Lisa and Katie who fondly remember her home cooking, great laugh, and soft gentle voice which made you feel like everything would be okay.
Her grandchildren Megan, Rachel, Eli and Grace will forever miss their Nanny Debbie and her stories, handmade Halloween costumes and fruit “faces”.

Predeceased by her parents John and Shirley Burgess (nee Steer) and her sister Bonnie, we are comforted knowing she is now resting in peace and reunited with her loved ones.

Debbie was a beautiful, kind, selfless person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her door was always open to anyone in need of support or a loving cup of tea. As an avid sewer her quilts were famous among friends and family, and she took great care choosing fabrics and patterns to lovingly create quilts for those she cared about.

Debbie will be remembered as a devoted employee of the Toronto Public Library, a wonderful “Brown Owl” to the 7th Toronto Girl Guide pack, and a dedicated volunteer of the Holy Trinity Christmas Story. Her passions included books, travel, singing in the car, reading tea leaves, and spending time with her family.

A special thank you to her “dialysis family” at Michael Garron Hospital for their love and support.

Friends may call at McDougall and Brown, 2900 Kingston Rd., on Friday, October 4th, for visitation between 5-8 pm. Funeral will be held at McDougall and Brown on Saturday October 5th at 1pm, followed by a reception. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery on Monday October 7th at 1pm.
