LEE, Rose - Passed away on Wednesdat, February 5, 2020.
She was born in Hong Kong and emigrated to Canada in the early 1950's as a teenager, worked at the CIBC located in Toronto's Chinatown in the 1950's where set met her husband, Nelson Lee, when he walked into the bank. He worked at the Lichee Garden restaurant located above the bank. Rose later returned to banking from the 1970's to 1990's.
Rose's life long passion was music and it was a multi-dimensional. She was an excellent and skilled Chinese Opera singer and she was never shy to take the stage or microphone and often in full Chinese Opera costume. She also enjoyed singing Chinese karaoke whether it be at home or more often, singing weekly at her various music clubs she belonged to. She also learned to play several Chinese musical instruments.
Rose had a huge admiration for singing star Engelbert Humperdinck. She had so much fun traveling throughout Canada and the US with her other Engelbert fan club members friends to watch him perform.
Rose is survived by her three children, Lingta, Janson, Benson, son-in-law Ken, three grandchildren, Sydney, Spencer, Connor and her brother, Howard.
A chapel service will take place at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, Toronto on Monday, 10 Feb 2020 at 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM followed by interment.
