MUNRO, Muriel Patricia   - Passed away peacefully on the morning of March 9th, 2020 at Sunnybrook Hospital, a few months shy of her 94th birthday.

Survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 63 years Ian Ferguson and her adoring children Craig Andrew (Vanessa) and Kent Alexander (Peter) of Vancouver, her four treasured grandchildren Elizabeth, Patrick, Catherine and Victoria and her many cherished nephews and nieces – Greg, Jeffrey, Heather and David; Charlotte and Montgomery; Michele and Michael.

She is now reunited with her eldest son Kevin Ian (Marianne) who predeceased her in 2007.

In 1926, Pat or Patsy was born on Grove Avenue in Toronto to Russell John Prior and Eva Fryer, the eldest of four children namely sisters Yvonne and the late Thelma and brother the late Leslie.

During her life, Pat worked at the Toronto Police Department, the North York Board of Education (where she met and married Ian) and, after raising her children, at George Brown College.

But her greatest and most valued achievement was her family. Pat was a supportive wife and a nurturing mother to her three sons and devoted the bulk of her energy to encouraging their fulfilment.

Her warm smile, engaging personality and tender soul, as well as her respect and caring for others, meant that Pat exuded love around everyone she touched. These characteristics endeared her to all who knew her.

The family is so grateful for Pat’s long and active life.

Sincere and heartfelt gratitude is extended to the physicians, nurses and caregivers who have provided unconditional support, particularly over the past few years.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Pat’s name to the Sunnybrook Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life and Reception at the R.S. Kane Funeral HOme, North York, ON, on Saturday 11 April 2020 from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. with a short service convened at 2:00 p.m.  Cremation has taken place with private interment to follow.
