Tughan MargaretTUGHAN, Margaret - (1926 - 2020) - On March 31st, 2020, Margaret Jean Tughan went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

While a sad time for those who loved her, we rejoice knowing she is reunited with her husband Sam, her parents Jean and Jimmie, and her brother Jim.

Margaret was a loving and devoted wife to Sam for 54 years and leaves her son Bob (Sheryl) and daughter Lynn (Lori) and grandchildren Michael (Danielle) and Sarah.

Margaret also leaves her Westmount Park/Capstone Community Church family of 54 years.

Born in Montreal on July 20, 1926, Margaret was proud to be Montrealer all her life and proud of her Scottish roots. She started working as a stenographer for the Royal Trust Company at age 15. She met Sam in 1943 and they were married at People’s Church on December 14, 1946.

Margaret gave up her job in 1956 and stayed home to raise her two children. She moved to Toronto with her family in 1961. Margaret showed nothing but love and devotion to her husband Sam till his death in 2001 and remained a loving and devoted mom to her two children all her life. She adored her two grandchildren and they brought her tremendous joy and pride. She also loved her church family who played such a big part in her life. Margaret was blessed to be able to live in her own home where she was happiest.

Margaret was a great listener, encourager and a prayer warrior. She was an amazing baker and was famous for her Scottish shortbread and date squares. She was a tremendous support to her family and so many others all her life. While this is a sad time for those who loved her, we are joyful knowing that she is now at peace.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint Isaiah 40:31

Given the pandemic, a memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with WARD Funeral Homes.

Donations in Margaret’s honour can be made to her favourite charities Christian Direction (http://direction.ca), Covenant House (https://covenanthousetoronto.ca) and the Scott Mission (https://www.scottmission.com)
