Karger Mary 2KARGER, Mary Theresa - (1935 - 2020) -  Surrounded by the love and support of her family, Mary passed away peacefully at home, as she wished, on Thursday April 9th, 2020.

Mary joins her parents, Elizabeth and Michael Sklencar, and her sister, Anne Bennett.

Mary is the cherished partner of Stan Porter, and the beloved sister of Jeanne Huizingh (Lambert).

“Aunt Mary” will be remembered with great affection by her nieces and nephews, Suzanne Bennett (Jim Lisowski), Michael Bennett (Nancy), Wendy Stasiuk (John), Anne Huizingh (Paul Candy), Gregory Huizingh,  and by her grand nieces and nephews, Sarah Stasiuk, Sandra Stasiuk, Michael Bennett,  Margaret Bennett  and Clark Westerhoff.

Mary was passionate about many things (tennis, politics, language and travel, to name a few), but all were unparalleled to her passion for teaching.  She has imparted many lessons to our family over the years, leaving us in the end with the most important ones about kindness, humility and compassion. She has coloured the fabric of our family with amazing vibrancy and given us wonderful, crazy, happy, teary and beautiful memories that we will cherish for the rest of our days.

With a global pandemic upon us, the funeral and burial services are private. We look forward to a time in the future where we can celebrate Mary’s life with joy and appreciation. Please contact the family should you wish to participate when that time comes.

For those who wish, memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to Credit Valley Hospital Cancer Care Unit www.trilliumgiving.ca. Arrangements entrusted with Skwarchuk funeral homes.
