Kumaravel LaliKUMARAVEL, Irangani (Lali) - Passed away peacefully July 19, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She lived a long and fulfilling life.

Beloved wife of late Manikam C. Kumaravel.

Loving mother of Anoma and late Ajita (Dharshika) Gunasekara.

Cherished grandmother of Naomi (Hansana), Nadeesha and Mayanka.

She is predeceased by her siblings Thilaka, Chandra, Sepala (Ray), Seela and Sujaya.

Born in Colombo Si Lanka, Lali moved to Toronto Canada in 1972 to start life anew. She was a remarkable human being, warm, caring and generous, a sister, a mother, an aunt, a grandparent, friend figure and counsellor to many.

Lali worked tirelessly (including at the Sheppard Village) to make a new home in Canada. A strong believer in giving back to society, Lali volunteered at the Toronto Mahavihara, the Scarborough Hospitals and even participated in a scientific research study at the age of 87.

An avid traveller at heart, she travelled the world whenever she got the opportunity the last destination being Tanzania (on safari) in 2018.

Lali truly believed in what she put her mind to and held steadfast to her ethical beliefs through-out her life.

We thank the doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers for their compassionate care during Lali’s illness.

Arrangements with Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough. Pandemic Restrictions. Masks are mandatory for all attending at the funeral parlour.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Toronto Mahavihara, Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke foundation or your local hospital.
