Aiken AnneAIKEN, Anne - Our beloved mother, Anne, passed away peacefully in her 89th year on August 14, 2020 at Bridgepoint in the Palliative Care Unit in Toronto, Ontario.

She was born on August 8, 1931 in Stockport, England and on April 29, 1955 she married the love of her life Keith Aiken and they were together for 49 years until his passing in 2004. Together they raised 3 children Peter, Ian and Susan.

Keith immigrated to Canada in 1956 and Anne followed with Peter in 1957 where they lived and worked the rest of their lives in Toronto, Ontario. Anne worked at Sick Children's Hospital for 35 years as a nurse, then in the research department until she retired.

Anne is survived by her sons Peter and Ian (Tina) and daughter Susan (Tim) and her grandchildren Ian, Kyle, Cassie, Tyler and Liam.

We want to send our heartfelt thanks to the Palliative team at Bridgepoint for looking after our mother with such tender loving care. The doctors and nurses really went above and beyond to make her comfortable.

As per Anne’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no service but we will plan a Celebration of Life get together in the future.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Anne’s name to Bridgepoint Active Healthcare Palliative Unit or Hospital for Sick Children.

Arrangements with Giffen-Mack funeral home, 2570 Danforth Ave., Toronto. Please sign the funeral home's online guestbook and if you have any pictures of a Mum, please share them with us. We love seeing the memories. Thank you.
