Clements RitaCLEMENTS, Rita - (December 2, 1943August 20, 2020)

Rita Clements was an amazing Mom to Lori-ann Fillier (50), Rebecca Clements (39), and Mother in law to Peter Schlecht. She was a doting and loving Ganny to Sophie (18 months).

Being the youngest of 11 children, Rita got to be the "cool" aunt to many many nieces and nephews a role she absolutely loved and cherished.

Rita worked as book keeper her whole career. A job she started at Simpsons and continued at many different companies including Consumers Gas. It was there that she won a bowling match and was going to be the first woman to ever go to their underwater site.

Although she battled with mental illness, she never let it affect how she raised us and always made sure she took us on adventures including our yearly trip to the CNE for the airshow. To keep busy, Mom would knit and crochet projects for the whole family - which actually means we have enough afghans to cover every piece of furniture twice! Her favourite thing to do was to sit on the balcony with her puzzle books or cross stitch while her cats snowball and shadow kept her company.

Rita was a fun, sarcastic, quirky person who loved her family and would do anything for them. She is deeply missed but will be remembered as the woman who loved pigs and cheated at every game she played, including Pig Pong.

Arrangements with Jerrett funeral home, Scarborough chapel. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or CAMH - Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
