Brettone MariaBRETTONE, Maria Concetta - With great sadness, we announce the passing of Maria Concetta on August 20, 2020 at the age of 85.

Beloved wife of Vittorio and cherished mother of Domenica (Santo) and Teresa.

Proud nonna of Carmelo (Jennifer), Vittorio (Julia), Maria Daniela, and Josie and great-grandmother to Ella Caterina.

A dear sister to Vittorio, Giovanni and Arturo (predeceased).

She will always be remembered by her cousin Eugenio.

There are no words that can describe how amazing Maria was. She was happiest when she was giving. Giving her love, her time, her home cooked meals and her fresh garden vegetables to her family and friends – she would not let you leave her house empty handed!

She adored her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and radiated with joy when they were around. Her grandchildren will forever cherish the memories they made spending every day after school and every summer at her house.

We will miss Maria’s smile, her encouraging words, her warm embrace and her contagious laughter.

A private cremation has taken place and visitation will be held in the chapel at Forest Lawn Mausoleum Toronto on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. COVID-19 Restrictions apply.  Inurnment services will follow.

Maria was a strong advocate of women.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria may be made to North York Women’s Shelter.
