De Almeida Dinarte DinoDe ALMEIDA, Dinarte 'Dino'We celebrate Dinarte “Dino” De Almeida’s life achievements and announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the Newmarket Health Centre, at the proud age of 89.

Dinarte is fondly remembered by relatives and friends in Canada, Azores, Australia and the United States.

A passionate man, Dinarte loved his family and was loved by them; he is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife of 50 years, Maria Cremilde De Almeida (nee Raposo) and eldest son Paul Jorge.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his dear children, Henry (Angela), Norman  (Cecilia), Filomena (Steve), Natalie (Jim), Ana Paula (Erik) and Lucy (Tony).

He was a proud and loving Avô to Paul Joseph (Kailee), Ashley, Julia, Andrea (Mark), Nicole, Paul Jorge, Jonathan (Jill), Thomas (Chontelle), Christopher (fiancé Marianne), Peter, Kadi, Michael, Joshua, Samantha, Jessica, Jordan and

Braden. Adoring great grandfather to Lilly, Indiana, Logan, Maison, Connor, Kai and Ellie. Loving brother to the late Norberto (Maria) and the late Henrique (Lourdes). He will be held dear in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Dinarte was born in Ponta Delgada, on the Sao Miguel Island in the Azores. He was a Chief Electrical Engineer until he immigrated to Canada, along with his son Paul in 1969 to start a new life for his family. He was reunited with the love of his life and their six other children the following year. He initially studied to obtain his Canadian Electrical License and thereafter worked for Atlantic Packaging.

Dinarte will forever be remembered for his great sense of humour, his warmth and generous nature. He was an avid fisherman, a bocce playing champ, was always up for a game of cards or dominos and was a tinkerer. He had an innate ability to see the potential in anything and anyone.

He loved his family and friends deeply, as they love him. Our hearts are heavy but filled with loving memories.

Dinarte’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the palliative care team at the Newmarket Health Centre, for the care and attention shown to Dinarte and his family.

Friends and family are welcome to a visitation at Vescio Funeral Homes Maple Chapel, 211 McNaughton Road East, Maple on Thursday, September 3rd from 2-4 p.m. & 6-9 p.m. Please note, masks are mandatory.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 6th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, 10295 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill (north of Major Mackenzie Drive).
